Why we started CARPASUS
The struggle to find shirts that are made eco-friendly and uncompromising in style and quality inspired our founder René to start CARPASUS.

In order for our clothes to be worn for a long time, we rely on high quality standards in the selection of raw materials, fabrics and manufacturing partners. We work with the best weaving mills and manufacturers in Europe in order to offer you shirts and other items that will accompany you for a long time.
Conscious decisions
We use materials such as organic cotton, recycled cotton, linen and wool for our collections. Our suppliers follow defined processes when processing these materials. To keep transport distances short, our fabrics and garments are manufactured in Europe. In fact, most of our fabrics and garments are produced in the north of Portugal.

We pay attention to timeless design when choosing fabrics, colours, patterns and cuts. Our products are designed to remain timeless for years to come.

Problematic Industry.
Hardly any other industry depicts the evolution of our economic system, production technologies and our consumer behavior, as exemplary as the clothing and textile industry. Clothing has become a mass consumption good. The production of clothing today is distributed globally which often entails long transportation routes and scattered supply chains. It is is enormously resource intensive. Polyester is the most used fiber in the industry. Growing cotton conventionally requires a lot of water, fertilizers and chemicals. Millions of people around the world are working day in, day out to make, design, sell, or grow the raw materials for our clothing. The high use of natural and human ressources entails various environmental and social challenges. The drying-out of the Aral lake, landfills full of clothes, polluted rivers caused by contaminated wastewaters, the collapse of the Rana Plaza building, inhumane working conditions and low wages are symptoms of a unhealthy approach to fashion consumption and production.

We believe in doing business with consideration for people and the environment and in preserving opportunities for future generations. Our shirts and menswear are designed to make you feel good and reflect our commitment to the people who make them.
We use high-quality materials such as organic cotton, recycled cotton, European linen and certified wool. These materials are processed according to defined production processes. We source from European manufacturers to keep transport distances short and to maintain manufacturing skills. We ship to our retailers in reusable bags. We constantly question ourselves and rethink our processes. That’s how we approach sustainability.
